Meat Loafs "Bat Out Of Hell" ist eines der legendärsten Alben der Siebziger Jahre. Im Oktober 1977 veröffentlicht, hat es sich bis heute weltweit 40 Millionen Mal verkauft.

Dieses Konzert aus der Offenbacher Stadthalle wurde im Juni 1978 für die deutsche Fernsehserie "Rockpalast" aufgezeichnet und zeigt perfekt die knisternde Spannung des originalen "Bat Out Of Hell"-Tour, mit Meat Loaf im Mittelpunkt der Bühnenshow und dem Komponisten des Albums, Jim Steinman, als Pianisten und Background-Sänger.
